Ameritocracy's Quote Widget
At a basic level, the quote widget is a piece of code that you can put on your site which shows a quote and its current ratings. The secret sauce however, is that the widget also functions as a powerful share tracking tool, a service which we offer totally free. Data collected about sharing at your site and on Ameritocracy, combined with data from our users based on community ratings for Accuracy, Agreement, and Relevancy, combine to create a powerful look at what people think, believe, and communicate about important topics in our society.
Spread the word with a widget.
- What does the public think about so-and-so's latest faux pas?
- Are the talking heads being honest about the climate crisis?
- Are you just itching to tell the world about Ameritocracy?
If you have a blog or a website, you can use our widget to inform your readers on these and other interesting things. You can get a widget with either a single quote or one with many quotes related to one thing ("Iraq" for example). What's great is that the ratings will update as the site updates, so there's no extra work for you.
You have a message. We track how well it spreads.
In addition to Accuracy, Agreement, and Relevancy ratings, custom technology on Ameritocracy and embedded in the Ameritocracy widget gives gives unprecedented insight into how and where content shares across the Internet - a key piece to understanding your users.
Compare and Contrast
See which articles on your site get shared most, and by which other online communities. You will know more about what type of content should be targeted towards which users in order to increase viral activity around your content.
How does it work on your site?
The Ameritocracy widget sits on your site and unobtrusively appends the URL of each page it sits on for each unique user that comes to your site. When User A sends their custom link to User B, Ameritocracy assigns User B a new, unique URL and stores the relationship between User A and User B.
If User B then shares with 10 other people, Ameritocracy knows they all came to you thanks to User A's initial sharing of your content. And so on.
A recent case study identified that a link pasted in an online forum produced 1,000 direct hits to the customer's site, and an additional 5,000 hits via shared links - information not previously available to the customer.
Simple, powerful reporting
Just log in to your Ameritocracy account to see - for each URL tracked - how many users came to your site via anonymous sharing mechanisms like IM and email, as well as via sites like Digg.
Track different URLs
Not limited to just your top level domain, you can track any page that has any Ameritocracy widget sitting on it.
Track using different widgets
Ameritocracy offers different configurations of its widgets, showing content related to specific people or tags, or showing just one specific quote. It doesn't matter which, or how many, widgets sit on a page on your site. All the tracking occurs automatically without any configuration effort on your part.
Did we mention it's free?
All Ameritocracy requires is that our widget appears on your page that is being tracked.
